ARGYLE D. FISHER 75, of Charleston, died January 1, 2006, at Hubbard Hospice House. He was born May 8, 1930, in Jackson County to the late Loren O. and Bertha Bonnett Fisher. His loving wife, Wilma L. Fisher; brothers, Regyal and Billy; infant sister, Jill; and infant brother, Ray also preceded him in death.
Argyle was a Korean War veteran serving with the U.S. Army. He was a retired truck driver and member of the Teamsters Union Local No. 175.
He is survived by daughters, Cheryl Gillespie of Shallotte, N.C., Beverly Counts of Ripley, W.Va., and Belinda Hartling of Cross Lanes, W.Va.; sons, Argyle Fisher II of Ripley, W.Va., Shon Fisher of Statesville, N.C., and Ricky Fisher of Ripley, W.Va.; sisters, Joyce Harrison of Kenna, W.Va., Crystal Fisher of Akron, Ohio, Noca Harrison of Nitro, and JoAnn Fisher of Akron, Ohio; brothers, Hobart Fisher of Charleston and Rossie Fisher of Hartville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, at Elk Funeral Home, 2001 Pennsylvania Ave., Charleston, with the Rev. Jerry Ernst officiating. Burial will follow in Sissonville Memorial Gardens, Pocatalico. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25311 or American Cancer Society, 301 RHL Blvd., Charleston, WV 25309. Arrangements are in the care of Elk Funeral Home, Charleston.
