Everett F. Casto
Everett F. "Buss" Casto, 75, of Given departed this life April 12, 2005, at Jackson General Hospital after a long illness.
He was born Dec. 31, 1929, at Given, the son of the late Luther F. and Oma Bowles Casto.
Buss, as he was known, was a loving husband, dad and "Paw-paw" to his family. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 132 with 40 years of service. Buss was a man who always put family and friends first. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a mini-farmer.
His greatest joy was having family and friends to visit and fellowship. He leaves to mourn his loss: his loving wife of 52 years, Edith; two sons and their wives, Robby E. and Milly Casto and Jonathon W. and Amy Casto, all of Given; a sister, Rosalie French of Ripley; two brothers, Alfred Casto of Sugar Creek and Paul Casto of Given; along with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only daughter, Barbie; and a sister, Hilda Pringle.
Buss was also given the joy of marrying Edith while her brothers and sisters were young enough for him to be able to watch them grow up, and was a huge influence on the lives of Robert, Leonard, Annabelle, Margeret and Ray. Each and every one of them considered him a loving, kind and helpful brother and mentor to them. He thought of them as "his other children." He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with John Gunther officiating. Burial will be in Given Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
