    • Fran has his birthdate as 1727 in Monroe Co, VA. This would make his father 10 years old and unmarried at the time It is unlikely he was born in Monroe or even in the part of the state that became Monroe. Monroe County was formed in 1799 from Greenbrier, which was formed in 1777 from Montgomery, which was formed in 1776/7 from Fincastle (1772 from Botetourt), Botetourt (1769 from Augusta) & Pulaski (1839 from Montgomery & Wythe???). Augusta formed in 1738 from Orange.
