Freida Mae Morris, 85, Sissonville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Hubbard Hospice House West.
She was a graduate of Nitro High School and attended business college in Charleston. Freida was a retiree from the Charleston Town Center as a parking attendant and later became a greeter at Walmart. She was an active member with the WV Democratic Party, Nitro Senior Center, and Nitro Moose. Freida loved genealogy.
Freida is preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Velda Taylor; and her sister, Rosalie Thaxton.
She will be missed by her daughter, Yvonne Britton and her husband, Kenneth; brother, Dennis E. Taylor; grandchildren, Melissa Anderson and her companion, Bernie Sumie, Amanda Manely and her husband, Matthew, and Joshua Britton; great-grandchildren, Scotty Britton and his wife, Cassie, Samantha and Courtney Anderson, Zachery and Michael Britton, Logan Manely, Jacob and Jace Britton; great-great-grandchildren, Olivia and Ivy Lee Britton; honorary granddaughter, Monica Skiles; and a host of nephews.
The family would like to thank Thomas Memorial ICU for taking excellent care of Freida.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 21, at Britton Family Cemetery on Britton Ridge Road in Sissonville.
