    • Mary Virginia Johnson Lytton, 88, formerly of Nitro, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, in Ozark, Mo., where she had spent the last few years living with her daughter.
      Mary was born March 16, 1920, in Jackson County, W.Va., but spent most of her adult life in the Kanawha and Putnam area. She was a full time mother and homemaker. Before moving to Missouri, Mary was for many years a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Nitro, an active member of the Methodist Women's Circle #5, a homeroom mother every year while her children were in school and a Brownie Scout leader. She was one of the founding members of the Nitro Women's Club and active member of the Putnam County Republican Club in the 1960s.
      She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Carroll M. Lytton; her parents, Otis Johnson and Georgia Baker Johnson Hudson; her brothers, Clarence and Carl Johnson; her sisters, Gladys Caplinger, Eulah Baumel and Vera Kelbaugh; and her son-in-law, Louis S. DiCastri.
      Mary is survived by her daughters, Nancy Carol and husband, Gus Coats, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Sandra Sue DiCastri of Sarasota, Fla., Mary Katherine and husband, James Roberts, of Ozark, Mo., Wilma Jean and husband, Donald Pitzer, of Nitro; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
      A service of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 20th Street, Nitro, with the Rev. Nancy White officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, South Charleston.
      Friends may call Friday, March 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, 2002, 20th Street, Nitro.
