Joseph R Haynes
Joseph R. Haynes, 72, Rt. 1, Parkersburg, died at 4:30 p.m. yesterday in Pinecrest Sanatorium, Beckley, following an extended illness.
He was born May 27, 1888, in Jackson county, and had lived in Wood county since 1934. He was a former employe of the Parkersburg Iron & Steel Co., Crotty & Co., and the acme Fishing & Tool Co.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Ruby Haynes; six sons, Harold Haynes, Porterfield, O., Forrest Haynes, San Diego, Ralph Haynes, Dill City, Okla., Richard Haynes, stationed with the USAF in the Philippines, Carl and Russell Haynes, both of Akron.
Eight daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson, San Francisco, Mrs. Avis Reynolds, Fort Royal, Va., Mrs. Wanda Athey, Akron, Mrs. Virginia Haynes, Novato, Calif., Mrs. Betty Collins, Mrs. Alice Turner, Mrs. Marie Buzzard and Mrs. Laura Belle Johnson, all of Parkersburg.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Georgia Curry, Wellsville, O.; 44 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The body will be brought to the Leavitt funeral home, where arrangements were incomplete last night.
