RIPLEY - Garnet L. Walker, 66, of Ripley passed away Monday, September 1, 2008, at Jackson General Hospital following a long illness.
She was born February 7, 1942, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Herbert and Opal Lupardus Parsons. She retired from State Farm Insurance with over 20 years of service. She was a member of Salt Hill Church.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Webster Walker; son Ronnie Bailey of Massillon, Ohio; daughter Adda Bailey of Ripley; grandchildren Amber Barnett, and Sabrina, Ronnie and Brandon Bailey; brother Romie Parsons of Virginia; sisters Betty J. Shackraft of Massillon, Ohio, and Roberta Huffman of Spencer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Roma Parsons and sisters Mary Parsons and Violet Fields.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Salt Hill Church, Ripley, with John Gunther officiating. Burial will be in Salt Hill Cemetery. Friends called from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, and may call one hour prior to service at the church.
