Ashley (11/14/1923) John T. Ashley, was born July 7, 1838. Died at his home on Bear Run, Nov 5, 1923, aged 85 yrear, 3 months and 29 days. He was united in marriage to Martha paxton in 1862. To this union were born nine children: J. W. Ashley, L. S. Ashley, J. S. Ashley, Joseph O. Ashley, Mrs. Virginia Straight, Mrs. Lakie Callow, Thomas Ashley, Miss Indiana Ashley, and Mrs. Sarah Callow, the three latter having preceded their father in death. He united with the Giboa Baptist Church about 30 years ago. and was a faithful servant in the work of the Lord. He leaves his wife, children and a host of friends to morn the loss of an aged and respected hugband, father and friend. Furneral services conducted at the home of Rev. E. s. Warren and burial in the Fox Cemetery by Funeral Director T. W. Dye.
