Jacquelyn Casto Rhodes, 78, of Statts Mill passed away at her home following a long illness.
She was born November 24, 1930, in Ripley, a daughter to the late Dr. Wendell and Clara Elizabeth Jordan Casto. She graduated from Morris Harvey College and obtained her masters from Marshall University. She was a school teacher for many years in Jackson County. She also was a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pi Delta Kappa, served as Mother Advisor in Rainbows for Girls, and was a member and Sunday School teacher at Sinaville United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Rhodes, and daughter Jamiann Rhodes Nelson.
She is survived by sons Ralph W. Rhodes (Beverly) of New Bern, NC, and Kevin R. Rhodes (Trina Fentriss) of Ann Arbor, MI; daughter Catherine Chandler of Statts Mill; son-in-law Robert P. Chandler; brothers James V. Casto (Judith) of Westerville, OH, and Dr. Phillip E. Casto (Kay) of Ripley; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all the caregivers throughout Jackie’s illness.
Service will be Thursday, October 22, at 11:00 a.m. at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Danny Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairplain Cemetery.
Friends called from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, at the funeral home. Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, is serving the family.
