Henry Flesher, a son of weaver Balthasar Fleisher was christened Johann Peter Fleisher in the village of Ober-Seemer, about thirty miles northwest of Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany in 1721 and died in VA in 1802. He was married in 1747. His wife was Elizabeth -----. The couple may have had a son name John in Germany.
They arrived at Philadelphia, PA aboard the ship "Phoenix" in 1752 in company with his brother, Peter Flesher.
Henry was naturalized in Augusta County VA court in 1770 and made a tomahawk claim at the confluence of Stone Coal Run and the West Fork River in Harrison County VA (WV) in 1776. He made the first permanent settlement in Lewis County VA in 1784. The city of Weston, VA (WV) was established on his farm in 1818.
From Suzanne Sheppard:
Following their cousins Balthasar and Agnes, children of their Uncle Andreas, Henry together with his older brother Peter and Anna Thiel and six of eleven children, immigrated to America arriving at the Port of Philadelphia on the ship 'Phoenix' on November 2, 1752. Henry was in the Revolutionary War. He was the first settler in Weston, VA in 1784. He was attacked by Indians in 1784, but escaped.
