Funeral services for Amos Adams, 85, who died Tuesday around 10:30 pm at the Medicenter in Columbus will be held from the McCoy- Moore Funeral home in Vinton with Rev Curtis Sheets officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home between 2-4 and 7-9 on Friday. Masonic services will be held at 8 pm Friday.
Mr Adams, a former resident of Evergreen, was born in Gallia County on Aug 14, 1887, son of the late Amos and Hattie Evans Adams.
He married Nola Smith in 1908. She preceded him in death in 1925. From this union, one son, Kenneth Adams, Kerr, survives. Two daughters and one son preceded him in death.
His second marriage was to Dorcas Walters in 1929. She survives along with one daughter, Mrs Pauline Kratzer, Columbus, and one step-daughter, Mrs Paul (Ethyl) Skidmore, Columbus. 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren survive.
He was a member of the Vinton Masonic Lodge No. 131, and was a 50 year member of that lodge. Mr Adams was a member of the Westerman ME Church at Evergreen and was a retired employee of the Keener Sand and Clay Co, Kerr.
