Cleon B. Shockey
RIPLEY Cleon B. Shockey, 79, of Ripley died Oct. 31, 2003, in Elder Care of Ripley.
Born April 25, 1924, in Ravenswood, he was the son of the late Howard Gordon and Maudie Taylor Shockey. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Clara Pepper Shockey; and a brother, Lester Shockey.
He was a charter member of Ravenswood Church of Christ and a retired supervisor from Exxon/Mobil. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Frankie Carmichael Shockey of Ripley; children, Theresa Cooper and James Shockey, both of Sissonville; grandson, Joshua Cooper of Sissonville; four stepchildren, Lynda Hutchens of Hawaii, Sandra Hutchens of Fort Wayne, Ind., Bill Hutchens of Morgantown, Dan Hutchens of Athens, Ga.; 10 stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren; brothers, William Shockey of Parkersburg, Robert Shockey of Ravenswood, Glen Shockey of Parkersburg, Ivan Shockey of Parkersburg.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at Kaiser & Douglas Church of Christ, Ravenswood, with Evangelists Steve Poyet, Don Wright and Ben Jones officiating. Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, and one hour prior to service at the church.
