WILLIAM FREDERICK DONOHOE
Colonel William Frederick Donohoe, 85, of Evans, WV, passed away October 24, 2018, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born December 17, 1932, in Spencer, WV, a son of the late William Hubert and Glada (Greathouse) Donohoe.
He was a United States Air Force veteran. He was retired from the West Virginia State Police with 35 years of service with the rank of Colonel. He was a former Disaster Field Director for FEMA and a retired general manager for Davis Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep of Huntington, WV. He was a member of the Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, Morgantown, WV and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a member of the Beni Kedem Shrine Temple, Charleston, WV and enjoyed cars, carpentry and tools.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Delores J. (Hersman) Donohoe; sons, William Frederick Donohoe II and his wife, Cheryl of Ripley, Michael Donohoe of Evans; daughter, Debra and her husband, Michael Dean of Ravenswood; grandchildren, Robert W. (Tiffiany) Dick of Martinsburg, William F. (Jamie) Donohoe III of Cottageville, Heather Jo (Jonathan) Kay of Ripley, Rebecca J. (Chris) Cox of Mechanicsville, VA, Caitlin (Bradley) Preece of Winfield, Jacob M. (Kayla) Dean of Ripley, Jason P. (Krystal) Cunningham of Ripley and Joseph K. (Ashton) Cunningham of Morgantown; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Alyssa Kay, Raeghan Frashier, Riley, Jillian and Carly Dick, Sam Blake, Ali, Juliana and Brie Preece, and Bailee Dean.
Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with W.V. State Police Chaplain Jimmy Mitchell and Pastor Allen Stewart officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Elk Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Big Chimney, WV. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be one hour prior to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
