The Rutland correspondent of the Pomeroy Telegraph says: While shearing one
of Oscar Chase's sheep, Monday, a strange freak of nature was discovered in
the shape of a miniature mouth about the size of the natural one, situated
just below one of the ears. It consisted of a well formed lip with the fringe
and a double tooth apparently inverted. No gullett was observable whenever the
sheep chews with its natural mouth this small one acts in unison with it.
Altogether this is one of the strangest freaks of nature we ever saw.
