Oris Ray Lathey
Oris Ray Lathey, 84, Evans, died Thursday, October 12, 1989, at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley following a brief illness.
Born Feb. 12, 1905, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late George W. and Cora Bell (Casto) Lathey.
He was a farmer and former employee of the West Virginia Department of Highways. He attended the Longview Community Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Hayden Lathey.
Survivors include two sons, Oris D. Lathey of Point Pleasant, and Wendell Eugene Rowley of Dunbar; one daughter, Geneveive Carney of Evans; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Casto Funeral Home in Evans with the Rev. Emmitt Adkins and the Rev. Melvin Conley officiating. Burial will be in the Foster Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday.
