Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Lubeck Methodist Church for Mrs. Cressie V. Williams, 79, of Cairo, who died Friday night at the home of a daughter.
The Rev. Edward Hanshaw and the Rev. Hughlynn Wilson will officiate with burial to be in Pleasant View cemetery.
Born in Jackson county, a daughter of the late Elisha and Margaret Alice Wooley Kerns, she was a member of the Lubeck Methodist Church and had resided in Wood county most of her life.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Anna Montgomery, with whom she resided, Mrs. Nora Snyder, Lubeck, Mrs. Clara Hornbeck, Gary, N.C.; six sons, Lawrence J., William R., Henry G., and Frank E. Williams, all of Lubeck, Earl A. and John J. Williams, both of Parkersburg, 44 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, William F. Williams, preceded her in death in 1953. Four sisters, one brother, and one daughter, Mrs. Rhoda Jeanette Sole, also preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Leavitt Funeral Home until 9 a.m. Monday, at which time the body will be taken to the church to lie in state for one hour prior to the service.
