Funeral services were conducted from the home by the Reverend Webb and interment was made in the Walton cemetery at eleven o'clock Sunday May 9. Mr Winey was born in North Carolina but moved to this county more than fifty years ago to make his home. When the war between the states broke out, Mr Winey cast his lot with the south and was cited for gallantry in many of the important engagements of that great struggle, following the stars and bars to Appamatox Court House.
