  Notes	Andrew’s father, Edward Anderson (1735-1795) enlisted in the Third Battalion of the Delaware-Pennsylvania Militia in 1758 and 1759. In the 1759 enlistment, Edward is noted to be 24 year old, born in Virginia, five feet four inches tall, and of fair complexion. In 1772, he obtained patents for land on Buffalo Creek, Washington, Co., PA - 1772, The Paxton; 1777, Buffalo Waters. During the first year, the family lived in a hut built of poles and covered with bark; built the first water mill west of the mountains - a small tub-wheel mill. Parts of his land he deeded 20 July 1790 (Washington Ca. PA Deed Book 12-H, pages 59 and 62) to his son, Peter. On 1 January 1796, Peter and his wife sold to Matthew Merrit what was left of his father’s lands. Sarah acknowledged the deed from Harrison County, (W)V (now Wood County).
