Samuel Rust, born Westmoreland co, Extensive landowner. Of age before June 27, 1695. His will was proven March 26, 1718.
Married Martha _______. Her will proven Feb 25, 1720-30. (Double dates arise from shift in calendar)
"Rust and Allied Families" by Eunice Plunkett Mesmer, 1939:
Samuel Rust, 3rd son of William and Anne (Metcalfe) Rust was probably married twice, as the youngest son, Peter, is described as "one of the sons of Samuel Rust (by Martha his wife)" suggesting that there were others not by Martha. Martha's last name is not definitely known, but many authorities give it as Martha Butler. She was probably the mother of all the children born after 1700. Her will, Nov 3, 1726, was probated Feb 25, 1729.

"Rust of Virginia"
The vestry of Yeocomico, Parish of Cople, Westmoreland County, VA, was established August 22, 1655, and a place of worship fixed to be succeeded by the building known as Yeocomico Church, built in 1706. . . Among the worshippers were Samuel Rust, Col Isaac Allerton, Capt John Newton
Samuel Rust became an extensive land holder, owning at the time of his death some 170 acres.
1709, Samuel was appointed "Surveyour of the Roads in this County to & from his Mill and it is ordered he cause the Same to be clear'd and repaired according to Law.
