Roland G. Casto, 68, of Kenna, a loving husband, father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 3, 2009, after a four-year battle with cancer.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith," II Timothy 4:7.
Born Feb. 12, 1941, in Belgrove, he was a son of the late Roscoe and Freda Faber Casto. He was preceded in death by a brother, Veldra Harold Casto; and two sisters, Ravena Casto Duffield and Imogene Casto.
He is survived by, and will be sadly missed by, his wife of 42 years, Joyce James Casto; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Kelly Castleberry of Charleston and Renee and Chris Ratliff of Huntington; son, Eric Ryan Casto of Huntington; grandsons, Austin and Hunter Castleberry; sisters, Edna Kelly of Charleston and Eleanor Clay of Kenna; sisters and brothers-in-law, Reda and Oshel Daniels of Ravenswood, and Wanda and Joseph McClung of Cross Lanes; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Sue Casto of Kenna and Earl "Hick" and Imogene Casto of Ripley; and brother-in-law, Jim Duffield of Charleston.
He was retired from Pechiney/Alcan Rolled Products with Steel Workers Union Local 5668, Ravenswood, with over 34 years of service. He was an active member of Plainview Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and adult Sunday school teacher for 25 years.
The family would like to thank Hubbard Hospice House for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25311.
The service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Plainview Baptist Church, Kenna. Burial will be in Casto Plainview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Waybright's Funeral Home, Ripley.
