Emma Elizabeth Wise Stanton, 88 of Parkersburg, WV died December 6, 2006 at the Worthington Manor Center. She was born in Roane County, WV on September 29, 1918 and was the daughter of the late Amos and Abbie Della Brown Wise. She had been a member of the Parkersburg Salvation Army for over 50 years and was a member of the Red Hat Society Organization at the Worthington Manor Nursing Home.
Survivors include a son George Haskins of Newburgh, NY, a granddaughter Tammy Haskins Moses of Murphy, TX, a grandson Teddy Haskins of Alexandria, VA, a great granson Robert A. Clark of Princeton, TX, and brothers and sisters, Pearl Wise Rushing of Zanesville, Ohio, Juanita Maxwell, Dortha Bosley, James Earl Cobb, Howard Harrison Cobb, Shirley Elaine Crawford, Ruth Irene Milam, Texanna Jean Starling, Betty Jo Higginbotham, and Carol Sue Snider.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father, Mattison Dissosaway Cobb, her first husband, George Henry Clyde Haskins, her second husband, Homer Stanton, her son Harry Haskins, two brothers, Harry Wise, Raymond Cobb, two sisters, Nora Mae Sames, and Mary Ellen Stewart.
Services will be on Friday at 1:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home Parkersburg with Major Robert Reckline officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8.
