Anna Lee Skeen - Charleston Gazette, The - (Feb/7/2005)
Anna Lee Skeen, 76, of Charleston departed this life Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at her home following a long illness.
She was born Dec. 3, 1928, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Denver Shamblin and Hayden Crowder Shamblin. Anna was a retired clerk with the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department. She attended Sugar Creek Community Mission Church in Charleston.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Dennie M. Skeen; one daughter, Ester M. Skeen; and two sisters, Betty Jo Shamblin, and Judy Summer.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas J. Skeen and wife, Agnes, of Ripley, W.Va., Melvin Skeen and wife, Belinda, of Charleston, and Michael E. Skeen and wife, Sharon, of Charleston; two daughters, Margaret A. Bolar and husband, Joseph, of Charleston, and Diana S. Arden and her husband, Allen, of South Charleston; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jackie Goff of Charleston, and Juanita Ward of Columbus, Ohio.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with the Rev. Lloyd Humphreys officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at the funeral home.
