Ella Hazel SMITH CASTO had told her daughter Hazel Wahaneta CASTO THOMISON that her great grandmother was a man (sic: MANN). Tradition may have incorrectly assumed the maternal instead of the paternal ancestry. Additional research indicates that the MANN was married to a FARSON instead of a GARD.
