Canton, Ohio, Nov 27 (Special) - An employee of a Charleston, W. Va. house moving firm, who was crushed under a falling chimney, died in a hospital here early today of head injuries. He is 20 year old Denzil Randolph, whose Charleston residence was listed as 1458 Frame St. At the time of his death he was employed by the Virgil Fike House Moving Co. He was a native of Jackson County, W. Va., and a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. Surviving are his parents, Adra and Ruby (Comer) Randolph of Charleston; four sisters, Mrs. Edgar Harding Jr. of Sissonville, Mrs. Shelby Shamblin of Advent, and Mrs. Gerald Ray and Miss Elizabeth Randolph of Charleston: grandparents, Marshall Comer of Advent and Charles W. and Lucy Randolph of Kentuck. The body will arrive at the mortuary today. (28 Nov 1957)
Canton, Ohio (Special to The Daily Mail) - a 20 years old Charleston man, employee of a house moving company, died in a hospital here yesterday of injuries suffered when a brick chimney crumbled and fell on him. The victim was Denzil Randolph, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adra Randolph of 1458 Frame St. He was an employe of Virgil Fike, Inc., and had worked in Canton about three months. Officials said young Randolph was working with a crew of men who were moving a house from one area of Canton to another, en route, the chimney of the house unexpectedly dislodged, Randolph was unable to dodge the debris. The mishap occurred two days ago.
Randolph died early the next morning. He was a native of Jackson County and a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. Surviving in addition to the parents are four sisters, Mrs. Edgar Harding Jr. of Sissonville, Mrs. Shelby Shamblin of Advent, and Mrs Gerald Ray and Miss Elizabeth Randolph of Charleston; and the grandparents, Marshall Comer of Middle Fork and Charles W. & Lucy Randolph of Kentuck. The body is at Cunningham Funeral Home." ( Nov 1957)
