Earl R. McCallister Sr., 88, of Dunbar, passed away Feb. 14, 2006, at Hubbard Hospice House. He was a retired operator with FMC Corporation with 43 years of service. He was a member of the Dunbar First Baptist Church, where he was active in his Sunday school class. Mr. McCallister was an avid golfer and loved to play bingo.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth McCallister; son, Earl Richard McCallister Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Wilson, N.C.; daughter, Regina Evans and her husband, Bill Clark, of Connecticut; brother, Orin McCallister of South Charleston; grandchildren, Mike and Chris Evans, Deborah Wyatt and Jason McCallister; and four great-grandchildren. Other loving family members include Clyde and Goldie Starcher of Spring Hill, Myrtle Casto of Ripley, Annie and Basil Randolph of Ripley, Dane Whited of Ripley and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, Dunbar, with the Rev. Thomas E. Stevens Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park. Friends called at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
