Esther Slater Casto, 83, of Charleston passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007, at the home of her daughter, Kathy Freshour of Nitro, after a short illness.
Esther was a lifelong resident of Kanawha County and was a Protestant. She was a former employee of Holiday Inn and worked in the housekeeping department.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Albert Casto, and son, Jackie Casto.
Surviving: son, Clyde and his wife, Bernice Casto, of Charleston; daughter, Kathy Freshour of Nitro; brother, Golden Slater of Charleston, sister, Judy M. Prather of Heizer Creek; three grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, 2002 20th St., Nitro, with the Rev. Harold White officiating. Burial will follow the services in Clark Cemetery, Kellys Creek.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cooke Funeral Home, Nitro.
