Athens County Family History - 1987
Great great grandfather Andrew Parker, originally from England, came to New York where he married the mother of his son William. We do not know her name. William was born in 1811 in eastern New York and brought by his father to Athens county, OH, in 1816. We do not know who else was in the party that came by wagon train to Ohio. At one point William, age five, got tired of riding and got out to walk. When they saw he was no longer in sight, they went back to hunt for him and found him about a mile behind, walking unconcernedly along following the wagon tracks.
In 1825, Andrew married Theodocia Blake, the widow of Comfort Blake. Her maiden name was Collins and she was the dughter of a fisherman off Cape Cod, Mass. William Parker married Theodocia's daughter, Lucy in 1838. They had 8 chiildren. . .
