Kenneth L. Casto, 79, of Hurricane died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, in Putnam General Hospital after a long illness.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hurricane and retired from Union Carbide's Institute Plant. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as an armorer gunner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mott K. and Margaret June Graham Casto.
Surviving: wife, Leona Shamblin Casto; children, Bruce L. Casto of southern Maryland, Mark E. Casto of Palm City, Fla., Brian F. Casto of Morrisville, N.C., Kenneth A. Casto of Plano, Texas, Cathy Chaney of Hurricane, Roger Pennington of Gulfport, Miss., Brenda Pennington Herron of South Carolina and Tammy Mackenzie Marshall of Memphis, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Casto of North Carolina and Joe Casto of Ohio; and a sister, June Casto Higginbotham of North Carolina.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim McGehee officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Allen Funeral Home, 2837 Main St. Hurricane.
