      Mrs. Leona B. Higginbotham, 82, of Dunbar died Oct. 14, 1994, at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a long illness. She was the first crossing guard for the city of Dunbar with 18 years service She was a member of First Church United Methodist, Dunbar, and a volunteer for American Red Cross and Thomas Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Putnam County and a 64 year resident of Dunbar. Surviving: husband, Charles W.; son, Charles E. of Gaithersburg, MD.; daughter, Viola "Vi" Nichols of Nitro; brothers, Ray, Alfred and Cecil Parsons of Poca; sisters, Lura Cook of Eleanor, Marie Goddard of Red House; two grandchildren. Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, is in charge of arrangements.
