Evangeline Booth Hopkins of Ravenswood went home to be with the Lord on April 11, 2009, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Russell Voiers of Millwood.
Born May 28, 1929, in Harmony, she was a daughter of the late Roy E. and May Romine Booth. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Clair Hopkins; brother, Hobert Booth; and daughter-in-law, Judy Mace Hopkins.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. She was a homemaker and seamstress and had been formerly employed by Kellwood Company, Spencer, Cedar Lakes Conference Center, Ravenswood Library and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a very talented seamstress and served many people in the Ravenswood and Ripley areas.
In addition to her daughter, Norma, survivors include sons, Jim Hopkins of Evans and Stanley and his wife, Sandra Hopkins of Mount Alto; sisters, Merle Tolley of Salem, Ohio, and Vivian Jones of Gandeeville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Aplin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Danny Cummings officiating. A private family interment will follow in White Pine Cemetery.
