She was born July 27, 1929 in Kanawha County, daughter of the late Howard R. and Ernie Horn Tackett. She was a lifelong homemaker. Surviving: Son, Larry Kerns of Washington state; Brothers, Lawrence Tackett of Leroy, Delbert Tackett of Gay and Darrell Tackett of Leroy; Sisters, Pearl Casto of Ripley and Dorothy Tackett of Ripley; Two grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Katherin was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Delong and numerous brothers and sisters. A visitation honoring the life of Katherin Delong will be held at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, Monday, May 12, 2014 from 1-2 p.m. Following the visitation the funeral procession will travel to the Horn Cemetery at Goldtown where graveside rites will be officiated by Pastor Darrell Tackett.
