  Notes	The Roanoke Times (VA) Page C2 February 16, 1996 BURGESS, Elaine Waybright, 87, of Narrows, died Thursday, February 15, 1996, at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. She was born in Ripley, W.Va., on August 2, 1908, and was the daughter of the late James Otmer and Lucile Parsons Waybright. She was a graduate of Marshall University, and a Narrows High School teacher for several years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Narrows. Mrs. Burgess was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius J. Burgess. She is survived by a son, Thomas D. Burgess III of Narrows; a brother, James O. Waybright of Williamstown, W.Va.; four grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Graveside rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, with the Rev. Larry Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Memorial Fund of First United Methodist Church in Narrows.
