Ratus R. Rhodes
Ratus R. Rhodes, 88, of Parkersburg passed away Nov. 16, 2006, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 12, 1918, in Statts Mills, W.Va., a son of the late Rhomie C. and Pearl McCrady Rhodes. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in Japan, worked at Greasly Candy Factory, Viscose and WVU-P.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mildred M. “Sees” Rhodes; two sons, Robert L. Rhodes and wife, Mary Ann, of Davisville and Ron C. Rhodes and wife, Pam, of Walker; one daughter, Ann Glover of Parkersburg; 13 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Rhodes of Parkersburg and Latus Rhodes of Washington; and one sister, Audra Blair of Washington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; three brothers; and two sisters.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Randy Dornon officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens with full military rites provided by the American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
