      Raymond C. Staab, 53, retired Charleston grocery store proprietor, died yesterday morning in a Charleston hospital after an illness of six months.
      Mr. Staab, of 310 Randolph Street, had operated Staab's Market on Virginia Street W., for more than 35 years. He operated the store with his father, the late Joseph Staab.
      A native of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, he was a member of Humphreys Memorial Church.
      Mr. Staab retired a year ago.
      Survivors: his widow, Mrs. Geneva Staab; one daughter, Miss Marilyn Staab, at home; two sisters, Mrs. R. E. Guinn and Mrs. H. F. Cunningham, both of Charleston; two brothers, Leonard of Charleston and Joe of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
